Project Description
The rehabilitation and Maintenance Programme of 70 Km of roads in the Lebanese Cazas of Aley, Shouf, Saida and Jezzine.
The objectives of the study were to fulfill the requirements defined by the Ministry of Public Works namely:
- Improvement of the road cross section and side slopes
- Improvement of the horizontal and vertical geometry of the road
- Treatment of the Pavement Structure
- Improvement and provision of drainage system
- Provision of road safety devices
The Programme, within the Pilot Programme for Road Rehabilitation is partly financed by the World Bank, included Economical and Financial Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment, Landscaping and all Engineering Rehabilitation Works for the following:
- Pavement, retaining walls, bridges and stormwater drainage facilities.
- Edge safety barriers, signaling, landscaping and hardscaping.
Consultancy Services
The services provided included the assessment of existing conditions and the design of a complete rehabilitation and maintenance programme. The project includes the rehabilitation of all engineering elements of the roads, economical and financial feasibilities, environmental impact assessment, landscaping and hardscaping, construction supervision.
