Project Description
The project scope consists of expanding current capacity for the existing sewage treatment plant serving the Garden development.
The original contract requires the following expansions:-
- Phase I – Increase the capacity from 4,000 c.m.d to 12,666 c.m.d.
- Phase II – Increase the capacity to 30,000 c.m.d.
The project which is design build contract includes, design, site preparation, structures, mechanical & electrical, pipe work, instrumentation controls and management & 10 years operation and maintenance.
FUTURE PHASE (PHASE III)
Due to the rapid increase in the expected volume of received sewage flow from NAKHEEL current and planned developments, further increase of the STP facility becomes a must if the STP facility if to cope with the sewage growth rate after 2004.
Based on the above, the Contractor was requested to proceed with design proposal for the provisions for 30,000 c.m.d capacity and work is already underway.
The Contractor was requested to submit proposal for balance of the 30,000 c.m.d capacity requirements and ACE recommendation report has already been furnished to NAKHEEL for decision.
Consultancy Services
The services include the followings project management main tasks:-
- Review / Approval of design proposal submitted by Contractor.
- Review / Approval of Contractor’s submittals for materials and shop drawings.
- Construction supervision and general project management.
