Project Description
The project comprises the upgrading of utilities, primarily potable water lines and sanitary sewers, in the area of Al- Shuhada Street, the project includes a program for the beautification of the area of Al- Shuhada Street to provide a safe and attractive environment for local business, pedestrians, and vehicular traffic.
Major elements of the construction contract are:
- Reconstruction of water distribution mains, sanitary sewers and electrical lines.
- Paving of street with asphalt.
- Construction of concrete brick sidewalks and median strip.
- Sandblasting of stone exteriors of street front shops and painting of shop doors in selected areas.
- Installation of awnings along street-front shops, litter baskets, planters, planting of small (trees, shrubs and flowers) and wrought iron fencing along curbs in selected areas.
- Installation of new traffic signs and lamp posts.
- Erection of safety barriers and painting of curbs.
- “As-Built” construction drawings.
