The village of Hasik is located 197 Km East of the City of Salalah, between Hadbeen and Ash Shuwaymiah on the Golf of Kuria Muria. The village will be developed into a new destination for eco-tourism and outdoor activities because of its perfect siting between the Natural Reserve of Samhan mountain on land, where various wild life have been sighted and the Islands of Halaniyat which are just 6 km off- the coast of Hasik. The main activity in the village is artisanal fishing, and during the abalone season, the coast south of the village, between Hasik and Hadbeen is occupied by divers and various individuals coming from various parts of the Sultanate. The structure plan will develop the infrastructure to cater for a population of over 5000, with prime land allocated for various tourstic developments. The Ministry of Toursim is planning to construct a heritage village near the fishing port, and the fast ferries terminal will be a point of departure for various touristic destinations in the area.
