Project Description
A major project involving implementation of a large Portland cement manufacturing facility at Siblin, 40 km south of the capital city of Beirut.
Utilizing the rich natural deposits in the Siblin area, the total production capacity of the factory is 2,000 tons per day with an initial capacity of 800 tons per day.
The project comprises a manufacturing plant of the dry-process type; limestone and shale recovery and storage;
sand and iron ore receiving facilities; transfer systems; pre-heater, pre-calciner kilns and cooler systems with precipitators; homogenizing silos and kiln feed systems with storage capacity of 8,000 tons; two 3000-hp finish mills; systems for receiving, handling and preparing coal; ancillary and support facilities; buildings and structures; roads, paved areas, utility services and other site works.
Consultancy Services
The services included planning, technical and economic feasibility studies; geological, soils and topographic surveys, preparation of master schedules for design and construction; establishing itemized budgets for procurement of materials and equipment; inspection of equipment manufacturing at country of origin; preparation of tender and contract documents for implementation of the scheme.
The services also included full construction management responsibility for the project including administering the competitive bid process, award of contracts, construction supervision, commissioning and start-up.
