Project Description
The planning and implementation of support facilities for the new Sitra Petrochemical Complex. The Complex comprises an Ammonia Plant and a Methanol Plant each with a capacity of 1000 tons/day. The project includes infrastructure for the Complex, constructed on a 600,000 square meter reclaimed site, including potable water; power supply and emergency generation and effluent disposal facilities. To support the operations for the Petrochemical Complex, several industrial and conventional buildings and facilities, were constructed, including:
- Gate houses and security facilities.
- 1.7 km dual-divided and 4-lane causeways.
- Street lighting and area lighting.
- Complete utilities including main electrical, water, drainage and sewerage.
- Fire station, safety and security offices with CCTV and central fire monitoring control.
- Medical Center.
- Administrative headquarters offices.
- Technical services office building.
- Warehouse with multi-tier storage racking systems, parts inventory offices and pallet racking area.
- Industrial workshop of 1900 m2.
- Landscape irrigation and external works.
- Fuel station including gasoline/diesel dispensing, underground tanks, vehicle washing and vehicle maintenance facilities.
- Mosque.
- Roads, street furniture, marking, traffic control devices, signaling and building identification system.
- Training Center including lecture theatre and visitor orientation facilities.
Consultancy Services
ACE assumed full construction management responsibility for this project, providing inception and master planning studies, soil investigation and foundation engineering, space programming assessment of facility needs, final architectural, engineering, industrial and systems designs, furniture furnishings and equipment designs and preparation of complete tender documents including bills of quantities.
In addition, ACE administered the competitive bid process, awarded the contracts and negotiated with vendors in the procurement of long-lead items of equipment and materials. All through the construction stage, ACE provided construction supervision including budget and quality control, quantity surveying, verification of billings, provision of fixed asset accounting, co-ordination of acceptance certificates and guarantees and provision of technical assistance and advisory services.
