Project Description

 

ACE has been commissioned by The Palm Developers - Dubai to do the preliminary and detailed architectural and engineering design for this ambitious project.

 

The residential development is part of a larger development project, the land area of which is around 800 ha. The project area is located at the South-East corner of Dubai, next to one of the major industrial areas. The new development is a combination of commercial facilities, residential neighborhoods and light industrial areas as follows:

• 51 ha for commercial facilities including the Merchandise Mart and Mile of Cars,
• 500 ha for residential neighborhoods,
• 21 ha for the Town Center and Business District,
• a 31 ha China Town mixed development,
• Lake, Public Park, Hotel zones

 

The Housing development with over 22,500 residential units is situated at the heart of the site and is limited to the East and South by the “Great Wall of China” of the China Town component of the project. The Wall is an urban feature aimed at isolating the residential area from the industrial area. The Town Center, China Town and the lakes are located within the housing scheme forming a major urban axis.

 

The Housing Development is subdivided into two categories: The Large and The Medium Neighborhoods. All building types within these neighborhoods consist mainly of a combination of three apartment types: One Bedroom, Two Bedrooms and Studio Apartments.

 

The project is involving both the Dubai and Beirut offices with completion expected in late 2003.

Architectural and engineering design, preparation of tender and contract documents, project management and supervision of construction
