Project Description
Destroyed by the civil war in Lebanon and also by the Israeli invasion, Dfoun needed to be rebuilt by its original inhabitants.
Dfoun was before war a typic Lebanese village, with vernacular stone houses, it's people worked as peasant or cookers in restaurants, after war they became in an easier social conditions and helped by the ministry of refugees, they needed to rebuilt their houses according to their new life style. As such, the aim of the project was to: • Develop a restoration strategy retaining a Lebanese character to a the destroyed village after war. • Updating the new amenities in these houses as functional kitchen, bathrooms… • Trying to promote individual low costs small houses (between 150 and 150 m²) according to their new status.
