BAGHDAD COMBINED MAIN SEWERS

Project Description

A Major project intended to construct a combined sewerage scheme for the highly developed communities of al marifa al Hamra, Al Fardous and Kadisiyah in Baghdad city.

The Major elements of the scheme included 115 Kilometers of gravity trunk lines and 25 kilometers of local collector rider sewers, rangine in size from 600 mm to 2500 mm in diameter.

Consultancy Services

ACE Participated with international contractors Group (ICG) of Kuwait in the preparation of preliminary designs, estimating and preparation of a successful bid for this turn-key project consequently, ICG as Contactor and ACE as Consultant were commissioned by the Baghdad sewerage board of Amanat al Asima, to provide complete design and construction services for the combined main sewer project Contract No. 1 serving the areas above mentioned.

ACE Developed special designs, specifications and construction techniques to suit local conditions including the setting up of a local plant for the manufacturing of reinforced concrete pipes protected against corrosion with TLock PVC sheeting. Also included was the development of pipe jacking methods for pipe installation without open trench excavation thus preserving existing utilities, roads and buildings within the highly congested built-up areas of the project.

Construction support services were also provided to the contractor on an on-going basis.
