Location: Al Qureya'ah, Lebanon Client: Investment Development Authority of Lebanon - IDAL Consultants: Associated Consulting Engineers (ACE) Construction Cost: 40 Million US Dollars Project Description Within the framework of Lebanon's vital industrial development policy. The Government has decided to establish a new industrial park in the strategic location of Al-Qureya'ah area in the Chouf caza. The site is over 1,800,000 m2 of which more than 1,000,000 m2 will be developed into a model industrial park of international standards with due regard to highest level of infrastructure services, clean environment and pleasant landscape to create a picturesque industrial park compatible with the attractive natural surroundings. The project consisted of running a feasibility study to establish the project viability and the industrial requirement as to types and related dimensional criteria. The development contains the following facilities: • A service zone that contains amenities which are to be shared by the various industries within the compound • A 30-room three-star hotel/ furnished apartments development, • A 1500m2 mini-mall comprising of the following support facilities: printing shop, bookstore, dry cleaning, mini market or co-op, bakery store, bank, post office and courier services, a 1500m2 food court/cafeteria, • Vocational school, workshops, car and truck repairs centre, • Day care centre, • Fire station, • Recreational facilities, • Small exhibition and conference hall (within the hotel compound) Consultancy Services Services provided by the firm include: Preliminary design, master plan, final design, and preparation of tender documents, construction management and supervision.
