Project Description

The large, triangular site of \"The Blue City\" is located at Al Sawadi and covers 34 sq. km. The site is about 30 minutes driving distance northwest of Seeb International Airport and 45-60 minutes (90 km west) of Muscat. Driving distance to Dubai is approximately 3-4 hours by car. The closest town is Barka, approximately 10 km to the east.

Its main features are:
• Prime seafront site approximately 15 km beachfront
• Over 20 to 30 Million square meters of gross floor area, developed over several , market-determined phases over the next
15 years.
• Entire new city more than 250,000 permanent and visiting residents.
• A new tourism and business destination of national, regional, and international relevance.
• Sustainable development principles and eco-friendly design are applied.
• Construction of infrastructure and first phase seed projects are set to commence in 2006.
• Phase One is to comprise hotels, residential, residential tourism and other tourism related components in the high-end
