Project Description

A major scheme involving implementation of grain silos and ancillary facilities at Aqaba and Juwaidah. The scheme increases the storage capacities by 80,000 tons at Aqaba and 100,000 tons at Juwaidah.

The main elements of the project include:

• Silo structures based on a modular configuration with a capacity of 20,000 tons.
• Each modular structure comprises 9 main bins and 10 smaller inter-space bins with a height of 45m.
• Intake facilities.
• Feed distribution and reclaim conveyor systems.
• Lateral discharge chutes and gates.
• Aeration and dust control facilities.
• Level and temperature monitoring devices.
• Power supply, illumination and lightning protection.
• Telephone and communication systems.
• Fire alarm and fire fighting systems.
• Instrumentation and controls including central monitoring and control installations.

Consultancy Services

Technical and economic feasibility studies; condition surveys; topographic and geotechnical investigations; planning; design; preparation of tender documents for implementation of the scheme.
